Happy Holidays from Mystery Loves Company
Happy Holidays from Mystery Loves Company
Hi,
We have added an art show to our bookstore in Oxford MD at 202 S. Morris Street. Our fabulous Art Guild of Oxford opened its show at our Oxford store the day after Thanksgiving with fifty pieces of art in various media. The opening attracted nearly one hundred visitors. The show and sale continues until Dec 31, 2008.
Dear Readers,
Here are my favorite reads for 2008 in no particular order. I'd love to hear from you.

Dear all,
Yesterday we hosted a reading and reception of the Delmarva Review authors and poets.
The photo taken at our Oxford store at 202 S. Morris Street in Oxford MD includes myself and six writers from the Review's inaugural issue, and two Reviewboard members (John Elsberg, editor of Bogg literary magazine, and MalaBurt, managing editor of the Review).
Dear ones,
PS: don't miss the 25% off sale Baltimore store only.
(A special note from Kathy Harig, owner of Mystery Loves Company bookstores).
On December 31, 2008 after much deliberation, Mystery Loves Company will consolidate its business and close its store in Baltimore at 1730 Fleet Street which we opened in 1991.
The Oxford store which has been extremely successful will continue to be open year round at 202 S.Morris Street in Oxford (410-226-0010) featuring mysteries, Chesapeake books and local authors.
Hi.
Just a reminder about the great event we are co-hosting at the Enoch Pratt Central Library 400 Cathedral Street Tuesday evening October 7 at 6:30 pm. Ann Cleeves is the award-winning British author of the Shetland Islands' mysteries Raven Black and White Nights. We will be selling her books following a fun presentation with four suspects and you as the sleuth. Don't miss it. Here are all the details:
One of my favorite authors Peter Robinson, recently did a podcast for the National Book Festival September 27, 2008. If you missed it, you can hear Peter interviewed at http://www.loc.gov/podcasts/bookfest08/podcast_robinson.html
Peter will also be attending Bouchercon http://www.charmedtodeath.com/ ,
Hi,
Kevin Lowery asked me to remind you that Baltimore author Tom Bonsall's memorial service will be on September 20th at 11a.m. At St. John's Huntingdon, 3009 Greenmount Ave., Baltimore, MD 21218. Tom was a writer of many works of non-fiction and won the Malice Domestic prize for his mystery. Tom also frequently attended Mystery Writers of America meetings and the Malice Domestic convention in May.

I promised in my monthly newsletter that I would have a great picture of Oxford to entice you you come to three upcoming Oxford Events. This was taken from the dock behind our store during last year's Oxford regatta by author Donna Andrews.
Although we are busy preparing to be dealers at Bouchercon in October, we couldn't turn down a chance to meet and co-sponsor a signing with Ann Cleeves, British crime author and winner of last year's most prestigious award The Duncan Lawrie Dagger Award for her mystery RAVEN BLACK.
